Actually three sister islands - Nusa Penida, Nusa Lembongan and Manta Point. Dry limestone islands about 30 km off the South west coast of Nusa penida, reached by fast speedboat in a 45 minute journey from Nusa Dua further than most other dive sites in Bali.
Manta points as there are two separate sites with same name both lie at the foot of dramatic cliffs and offer visitor the chance to get close to big manta rays that feed in the plankton rich currend or visit cleaning stations. You need to be flexible because its exposed location means that sometimes the conditions are too rough for the boat to make it down there, and on arrival giant swells can make diving impossible. But if conditions are good & the Mantas arrive it is well worth the extra effort to get there. Above water sheer cliffs are a dramatic sight.
Manta Point off Nusa Penida, one of Bali's sister islands, is 14 nautical miles East of Bali. Manta Rays can be seen all year round at Manta Point, although dive conditions can sometimes effect visibility.
